Call for scores
notice from the reading committee
The ensemble aleph organises since 2000 the International Forum for Young Composers which aims to:
• allow composers under 40 years of age, of any nationalities and aesthetics, to meet, to discuss about their musical influences, aesthetics and their respective positions as creator
• have their work performed by an internationally recognized musical ensemble
• connect the young generation of worldwide musical creation to renowned composers serving as a reference in this field
• present a panorama of today's international musical creation
The ensemble aleph, always wishing to explore the most varied aesthetics and curious to discover new forms of writing, organises the 8th International Forum for Young Composers.
The form taken by the Forum involves notions of meeting and exchanges to which the members of the Ensemble Aleph are very attached. To be a privileged working tool for composers in their research into musical languages is the starting point of this project.
Spreading information widely being one of the important values of the International Forum for Young Composers, it therefore seems essential to leave a lasting trace of the actions.
Accordingly, a logbook containing interviews with the selected composers and the Forum performers will be put on line. It also includes a presentation of the Forum principle as well as a synthesis of the different debates and conferences that are held throughout the residency.
